Congratulations! You have successfully created fitment, and our myFitment application has communicated it in ACES XML format to Amazon automatically for you.
But you need proof that it was sent. After all, you just looked at the Compatibility Chart on your Amazon listing, and there are no vehicles listed there. Where are they? It’s been an hour already! Please see the end of this document to learn why you should not be verifying your fitment by looking at the Compatibility Chart.
After myFitment sends your data to Amazon, Amazon responds with something called a Processing Report. It normally comes back to us within about 2 minutes. It comes to us in XML format, and it really isn’t pretty to look at.
Here is what one looks like:
There’s not much anyone can do with that information, because the 376 vehicle fitments above came from hundreds of sellers on myFitment. And this one is actually very clean, because no records were rejected. The file above can contain quite a bit of spaghetti if it rejects certain records.
However, we have developed a technology that lets you trace every single fitment that we send to Amazon for you.
myFitment parses and processes each Amazon Processing Report and assigned the Amazon Document ID, along with any relevant information about any errors that may have occurred, to each individual fitment in your myFitment account.
If you experience an extended period after you have created your fitment without seeing your fitment on your Amazon listing, you may want to contact Amazon Seller Support to ask them what the problem is.
Seller Support will always want to know the Amazon Document ID of the data that you sent. Here’s how you can find it in myFitment.
Please wait 15 minutes after you have created the fitment to verify the Amazon Information below. myFitment processes Amazon Processing Reports for all fitment sent across the system every 15 minutes.
First, you will go to the View Products page by clicking Products –> View Products in the menu:
To search for a specific product, enter its Part Number in the Search box.
Next, you will see a list of icons to the right of your products. See the one that looks like an eye? When you hover over the icons, a box will pop up describing the function of each:
Click on the eye icon to view fitment for this product. You will then see a list of the fitment for this part. See the column called Amazon Info? It contains an icon for each row. Like the other icons on the site, hover your mouse over the icons in that column:
You will be presented with:
- the Amazon Document ID that this line of fitment was sent in
- the date and time it was received by Amazon
- the status of the fitment (Success or Error)
- any error messages that may have been included
If you want to contact Seller Support to ask about your fitment, you will need that Document ID.
This information is proof that myFitment did indeed send your data to Amazon.
If you hover over the icons in the Amazon Info column and a box does not pop up, then that means this fitment has not been sent to Amazon since we implemented this new feature. In that case, you can contact support and request that a full file be sent to Amazon.
Why You Should Never Attempt to Verify Fitment By Looking at the Compatibility Chart on Your Amazon Listing
Amazon has several processes that run after they receive your data and send your Processing Report. All the Amazon Processing Report means is that:
Amazon has read and validated this line, and stored it in an internal product catalog database. The fitment data is not yet tied to your listing.
There are several processes that run at Amazon after your fitment data has been processed. These are outlined in a document titled “What Happens After Amazon Receives the Fitment Data?” We urge all Amazon Sellers to carefully read this document to understand what happens to your data after it goes to Amazon.
The computer program at Amazon that populates the Compatibility Chart is one such program. Amazon recommends that sellers do NOT look at the Compatibility Chart to verify that their fitment is at Amazon. Currently, the program that populates the Compatibility Chart is unreliable. It only runs about once every 30 days, if it runs at all. And the data in there is NOT a reflection of the most recent data you have sent to Amazon. It is NOT a reflection of the data in the Part Finder, and it is NOT a reflection of whether your listing says whether your part fits a certain vehicle.
